Aithera Labs Featured as a Winner by SME News

We're excited to share that Aithera Labs, our AI-powered environmental intelligence venture, has been featured as a winner by SME News.

Aithera Labs was founded to close a critical gap in climate resilience: giving communities, insurers, and infrastructure operators earlier, more accurate warning of flood risk and ocean climate change. The platform combines live data from six independent sources — including Environment Agency river gauges, Sentinel-1 satellite radar, COSMOS-UK soil moisture sensors, next-generation weather models, and coastal tide data — with a machine learning model trained to turn that data into actionable flood forecasts. Underpinning it all is a spatial database covering over 41 million UK property records and more than 800,000 Environment Agency flood zone polygons.

Recognition like this is a meaningful vote of confidence in that work, and in the broader mission of building climate technology that is both scientifically rigorous and genuinely accessible. It sits alongside other institutional validation Aithera Labs has earned this year, including a strong first-submission score from Innovate UK's AI Champions program and Google for Startups cloud credits.

Flooding is one of the most costly and increasingly common climate risks in the UK and globally, and the organizations best placed to reduce that cost — local authorities, insurers, infrastructure operators — need forecasting tools that are accurate, fast, and easy to act on. Aithera Labs was built solo, from the ground up, with that mission in mind.

Being featured by SME News doesn't just validate the technology; it opens the door to new partnerships, mentorship, and visibility that will help Aithera Labs reach the pilots and communities that need it most.
